10,000 Chinese Residents Trapped Without Food or Electricity Due to Flood

Continuous heavy rains and dike failures flooded the entire Guzhen County of Anhui Province in the afternoon of July 19. By late evening, there were still more than 10,000 people trapped in flood water. Many climbed to rooftops to wait for rescue. According to China’s Central Weather Station, 25 inches of rainwater fell in the Guzhen area between July 17 and July 19.
