Shen Yun Reminds Aurora Audience ‘We Have a Creator’

"The style, the training of the dancers and their athletic ability beyond the dancing is incredible," said Mark Fitzgerald, president at Coach Marketing. That was how Fitzgerald described the dancers after seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts Global Company on Jan. 12. Despite several inches of snow and low temperatures, nearly every seat was filled in the Paramount Theatre for the evening performance. "The stories, and hearing the ancient stories are, the tradition is very enlightening and something that’s not told that we all need to understand," said Fitzgerald. "You don’t hear about the tradition anymore from, because of [CCP]China. And to understand the old ways and what built China into what it was, is very interesting. So that’s new to us here in the United States, for the most part." This is the second consecutive year Shen Yun has made a stop in Aurora, Illinois, during its Midwest tour. According to its program book, the company aims to portray China's ancient traditions for today’s audiences through dance pieces that tell Chinese stories and legends. "I did not expect for all of the spirituality of it, and I like how it highlighted goodness against evil. So it was very touching," said Lilia Cronin, a dancer. "I had to hold back some tears. It was beautiful." "It was incredible how they highlighted the communist regime persecution of religious minorities in China, and that’s very important. People need to understand that," said John Cronin, foreman at Bulley & Andrews construction company. "That this is good versus evil. So we were touched by it." "This is a revival of ancient Chinese culture that the world needs to see. I think we need those traditional values. We need to understand that we have a creator and there is good and evil. And that we cannot solve our problems on our own with our own science and our own intellectualism. We need to rely on God who created us and right and wrong.
