Sammy the horse

When this video of a dog making friends with a rescued horse went viral, it's the story behind it that was the most touching part. “Does he have the will to live in his eyes?” When Darlene Kindle heard the answer to that question she knew she had to take Sammy, a neglected miniature horse that had been found wandering the streets in South Carolina. “He thrived to live and I was going to give him all I had to make him happy and healthy again,” she said. When Sammy arrived he was “skin and bones” and on top of a long list of medical issues, he was scared. Molly, Kindle’s 3-year-old Golden Retriever, had approached Sammy and appeared to be comforting the frightened animal. “Molly truly has an exceptional sense of knowing when one of the animals doesn’t feel good or [is] sad. “Molly knew Sam needed a friend.”
