President Obama’s administration approved
a $200,000 grant to a known terrorist group
tied to al-Qaeda, despite it being designated
as a terrorist-financing organization.
The Islamic Relief Agency was designated as a
terror-financing organization in 2004
due to links to Osama bin Laden.
The Islamic Relief Agency raised funds for
bin Laden and later for terror group Hamas.
But 10 years later, the Obama administration
approved the grant.
The $200,000 award was made as part of
a larger grant to World Vision.
At least $115,000 was confirmed to
make it to the Islamic Relief Agency.
The U.S. Agency for International Development
said it has reviewed its procedures.
An official also stressed that it occurred
under the Obama administration.

“USAID has also updated training for our agreement officers
to improve our screening of prime and sub-awardees.”
The news is the latest that has come out about the
Obama administration's dealings with terror groups.
For instance, a previous report noted the admin
stopped a major investigation into Hezbollah.
World Vision said that the payment was for
"legitimate humanitarian work already incurred."
