China-based N. Korea tourism agency suspends group tours: Report

Chinese tours to North Korea have been suspended until after Sept. 5. Some speculation points to an upcoming visit by Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The North Korean communist regime may also be preparing to celebrate its 70th birthday. North Korean travel agencies have said that hotels need to be renovated. The travel suspension comes amidst North Korea’s peak tourism season. North Korea has seen up to 2,000 Chinese visitors this month.
