Man Hoisted From Alaska Trawler After Being Hit in the Head by Block of Frozen Fish

A man working on a fishing boat in the frigid waters off Alaska had to be medevaced after he was struck in the head by a block of frozen fish The 21-year-old was working on a 154-foot fishing boat about 260 miles north of Cold Bay, Alaska when the 37-pound block of fish struck him. A Coast Guard helicopter crew airlifted the injured man to St. Paul, Alaska for immediate medical care on November 8, 2017. Later he was transported to Anchorage by a commercial medical transport service.
