French People Are Getting Poorer: Economist

French lawmakers approved Wednesday a 16 billion pound ($19 billion) bill to protect the French people from rising prices. The package of measures includes increasing pensions and some welfare payments. But these measures raise concern over whether the French government is able to sustain its public debt. NTD spoke to an economist, who says the bill might not be enough to prevent impoverishment of the country.
