US Sending Troops to Taiwan; Global Alliances Form Over US and Ukraine

Crossroads
Crossroads
The United States will be sending 100 to 200 troops to Taiwan, which would increase U.S. troop presence on the island nation by close to four times. While the initial increase is relatively small compared to the 20,000 U.S. troops now being stationed in Europe, the increase marks a new step in potential commitment to defend against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Meanwhile, global alliances are now forming around the conflict in Ukraine. In this, the United States is beginning to lose global support, while the conflict and sanctions are pushing Russia and other nations closer to the CCP. In this live Q&A with Crossroads host Joshua Philipp, we’ll discuss these stories and others, and answer questions from the audience.
