Nvidia Makes New Chips for China, Evades Export Ban

U.S. microchip maker Nvidia has come out with a way to get around export controls. The Biden administration forbade the tech company from exporting advanced computing chips to China. The move sought to prevent American technology from aiding China’s military development. That export curb could cost Nvidia $400 million in sales. But the microchip giant has come up with a solution—producing a new type of microchip that doesn’t break U.S. restrictions and can be sold to China.
