Former Border Patrol Agent Explains Why Immigration Laws Matter

On Sept. 17, 2021, the White House published a blog on the economic benefits of giving permanent legal status to illegal immigrants. According to that blog, illegal immigrants coming in help the economy by expanding the workforce, which in turn leads to greater economic output. Former Border Patrol agent Kent Lundgren says immigration laws were put in place partly to prevent illegal immigrants from working in the United States because it hurts the economy.
