Comparison: Number of Words In Each Language

Infinite Comparison
The issue of which language has the most words is a difficult one to answer. Even linguists are attempting to avoid it. The actual number of words in each of the world’s languages is unknown. Some claim that English has the most words. Simultaneously, others argue that the number of words in specific Semitic languages, such as Arabic, is in the millions. What about Spanish, Chinese or Korean? Although it is possible to count the number of entries in a dictionary, it is not possible to count the number of words in a language. This comparison video is a list of dictionaries considered authoritative or complete by approximate number of total words, or headwords, included.
