DAY 49 / 2022 Wheat Harvest / August 3 (Jordan, Montana)

Goodbye is never easy for me. Callie and Wyatt left for Yellowstone after visiting the lentil field and riding in the combine. A nasty weed (lambsquarter) is causing a lot of problems. The teeny tiny black seeds find their way in the grain bin rather than flying out the back of the machine. We cut around the larger patches of the weed and moved to a different field. Within the first round, Rod’s machine broke down. A bearing on the center belt of the header went out. While the pit crew worked on that, I went back and forth in the field.
