Supreme Court Hears Case That Could Empower State Legislatures, Not Judges, to Regulate Elections

The Supreme Court heard a case on Dec. 7 that could change the future of federal elections. North Carolina Republicans argued state lawmakers should have the final say on how federal elections in the state are run. However, opponents worry it would give state lawmakers absolute authority and could perhaps lead to them choosing desired election winners.
