The collective buying by retail investors that drove the price of GameStop stock up 1700% has cost Wall Street short sellers $70 billion this year. With stakes that high, it’s not surprising that Big Tech — Google, Facebook have also stepped in, restricting the activities of retail investors on their platforms. Meanwhile, the Biden administration maintains virtual silence on the issue. A staggering 42 executive orders have now been signed by Biden since he took office, calling to mind his accusation against Trump, that governing by executive order makes a President a dictator. Even leftist media outlet, New York Times has expressed dissatisfaction with this trend, publishing a recent editorial titled, "Ease Up on the Executive Action, Joe.” Infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who’s been brought back to the White House by Biden, has said the UK variant of the coronavirus could be widespread through the U.S. by late March or early April. Meanwhile, one of Biden’s latest executive orders seeks to offset ‘racist’ or ‘xenophobic’ overtones to the term ‘China virus’ coined by Trump, banning the use of the term at government facilities.
