Day 30 - 2021 Wheat Harvest / July 12 (near New Raymer, CO)

We hauled a load of grain to Stoneham this morning to begin our day. We patched around trying to find some dry wheat most of the day. Ended early evening with the knowledge that the fields just need a little more heat and wind. But then there’s the issue of the sawfly. The long we wait, the more opportunity for the wheat stalks to fall to the ground. It’s a challenge - the farmer vs the sawfly. Right now, there’s really nothing that is out there to rid the fields of the bug. Just one more concern for all involved.
