US Retail Sales See Biggest Drop in 11 Months

Retail sales, which are mostly goods and are not adjusted for inflation, dropped 0.6 percent last month—much lower than expectations. People are spending less on some big-ticket items. Auto sales, fell 2.3 percent. Furniture store sales dropped 2.6 percent, and electronics and appliance store sales fell 1.5 percent Consumers were buying less online with online retail sales going down 0.9 percent. Ted Rossman, a senior industry analyst at bankrate.com talks about retail sales' biggest drop in nearly a year.
