White House: No Plans for a Biden Press Conference Directly with Reporters

Amid turmoil around the world, escalating wars and economic issues in the US, White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said President Biden has no plans for a press conference directly with reporters at a Monday briefing when asked by an attending journalist. While Biden has occasionally interacted with the press in short spurts, the president in December of 2023 did not hold a traditional year-end press conference. Jean-Pierre cut short a September 2023 news conference in Hanoi, Vietnam with the President.
